Discover the amazing world of Raw honey

From thick and rich to smooth and elegant we're searching the world for a wide range of honey from ethical independent beekeepers who harvest some of the worlds tastiest honey. We love high quality honey and want everyone to know that honey is at its tastiest and most beneficical straight from the beehive.

What is raw honey and why buy raw honey?

Wild Hives raw honeys are honeys that have not been heated, pasteurised or processed in any way. The difference between raw and pasteurised honey are substantial. Raw honey is an alkaline-forming food that contains natural vitamins, enzymes, powerful antibiotics and other important natural nutrients. These are the very nutrients that are destroyed during the heating and pasteurisation process.

Where we get artisan honey

We're really enthusiastic about raw honey and we're urban beekeepers ourselves, and as such from mid to late summer we sell artisan raw honey from London. In the rest of the year we source as wide variety of honey types as we can find. We search for honey across Europe in order to offer an interesting range of honeys, not found locally, such as Buckwheat and Eucalyptus. Our main criteria is that it comes from a small scale independent beekeepers, whose bee rearing and honey harvesting methods we can trust.

Raw honey: some of the benefits

Raw honey has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. It promotes body and digestive health, is a powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, eliminates allergies, and is an excellent remedy for skin wounds and all types of infections.

Protection against flu symptoms

Raw honey is perfect for defending against and fighting colds, which is especially important in this time of changing seasons.

Raw honey's antibiotic properties are effective in treating colds and sore throats. Raw honey coats the throat and reduces irritation.

It's said that the antioxidant properties of honey, especially strong in some types of honeys, such as buckwheat, help strengthen the immune system.
